As 2012 comes to a close, Berisfords has once again had an extremely busy and successful year of trading and looks forward to 2013 which should prove to be both exciting and challenging.
The up and coming months are particularly important, new designs and launches for the coming year will be planned and although having just celebrated Christmas, Fiona Hampton, Berisfords Design & Marketing Director is already busy designing and planning what next year’s Christmas trend will be. Creating, innovating and fresh ideas are the main reasons Berisfords are the UK’s largest Ribbon manufacturer and as a Company we are always keen to encourage young British design. For several years Berisfords has worked with Congleton High School on a yearly design award in which Students design and manufacture a textile product as part of their coursework. Students are presented with a design brief and are then judged on how well the brief has been interpreted and also the quality of both their design and skill of manufacture. In 2013 we are very pleased to announce that we will also be working with Eaton Bank Academy for the Design Awards. This year the winners will be announced as part of the Chamber of Commerce Business Awards. Encouraging youngsters to become involved in the UK textile and manufacturing Industry is extremely satisfying; we welcome the opportunity to showcase our facilities to education. My self and other Chamber members recently attended ‘A New Dawn’, a seminar held at the cloth workers Hall in London in order to promote the rebuilding of UK Textile Manufacturing. The seminar was attended by over 250 delegates and had guest speakers which included British designer Paul Smith and the Secretary of state for Business Rt Hon Vince Cable MP. The main challenges that UK manufactures face are the cost base, lack of skills and competition from foreign Imports. The aim of the Seminar was to show that the UK can manufacture competitively with its foreign counterparts and Berisfords strongly believes that this is the case and is proof that quality, service and design can far outweigh the demand for cheaper prices.
At the beginning of 2013 Berisfords will be launching a new and exciting website and introducing a 60 page essentials brochure packed with beautiful ribbons and lifestyle images. These will form another platform in which our latest designs and ideas can be delivered to our ever increasing customer base. As part of the continuing Investment we are also pleased to be working with other members of the Chamber namely the S.E.S Group and TMC Strategic Communications.
Myself and all the team at Berisfords would like to wish all our fellow Chamber members a successful and prosperous 2013.
