As a commitment to reducing our impact on the planet, we have partnered with a leading European yarn supplier to develop recycled ribbons.
Sustainable ribbon that has been woven with yarns made from 100% used plastic bottles.
Looking towards the future
The impact that cotton production is having on the planet is immense, which is why we’re taking action for the future, today.
From the start of 2021, onwards we are committed to upgrading all of our UK manufactured ribbons to 100% recycled yarn.
Ensuring that the creation process is done ethically from start to finish, we collect the plastic bottles used via recycling points within mainland Europe, where they are then thoroughly cleaned before being broken down into smaller plastic elements. From here they are melted back into a liquid form and then converted into filaments, ready to be spun to create 100% recycled yarn.
That’s 12,000 bottles not going to waste, landfill or damaging the wider environment.
Never compromising quality
We may be dedicated to producing sustainable ribbon but that doesn’t mean you’re limited to quality or variety. Our vast collection of colourways mean you’re guaranteed to find something perfect for your needs, whether its soft neutrals or more vibrant hues.
Whatever you choose, each of our new sustainable ribbons will be delivered to you on our new white plastic reels which not only look great, but are also made from recycled white goods, and can later be recycled themselves!
Sustainable ribbon certified by the GRS
Every yarn produced in this way is certified by the GRS (Global Recycled Standard) and by OEKO TEX – the Global industry standard for textiles.
We’re dedicated to being sustainable, ethical and honest, so if this is a priority for your brand – why not get in touch? To discuss sustainable ribbon with our experienced, helpful team – or to place an order, contact us on 01260 274011 or email us at firstname.lastname@example.org.
